If you want to get ahead, the first thing you need is just to have knowledge of one skill. As students, we don’t really have the time to master a skill completely. For example, whether it's video editing or graphic design, you don't have to learn everything by doing it yourself. Just check out the theory behind it and see how it works. Like with video editing, you should look into things like jump cuts and color grading.

You need to add effects and transitions, and know about sound effects, so when a client gives you a job, you understand what they want. What you should do is create links to your work. For example, on Up work or Fiverr, you can tell clients that you’ll handle the editing for them. Make sure to write a proper email to reach out. A lot of people will contact you, and if you stick with this for a month or two, you’ll start getting your first couple of clients.

The second option you can start is teaching languages. So, if you know any language, you can teach it. You might be wondering how that's possible, but languages like Urdu and Punjabi are taught too. Plus, if you know any local language, you can teach that as well. Now, where can you teach these languages? There are a lot of websites for that. If you check it out here, you'll see that people are properly teaching Urdu. They explain that they’re students, and I've noticed that students in Lahore are teaching Urdu to foreigners. A lot of foreigners want to travel to Pakistan, and some want to stay here, so they're learning the language. Some are just doing it for fun. It's a great gig too, because you can earn decent money for your time—like you can make 500, 600, 1000, or even 1500 per hour. So, it's really a fantastic opportunity!

Option three for you is to pick up a small skill. If you learn it, trust me, I’m paying people for this skill myself, which is thumbnail creation. Nowadays, with so many YouTube’s popping up, a lot of people don’t have the skills or don’t want to learn it themselves. They just get others to do the work for them. The market has advanced a lot, and many people have started making great thumbnails. So, you can also learn to create thumbnails; you can even do it on your mobile.

If I talk about it, Pixel Lab is pretty good. I've even uploaded a course about it on YouTube. If you write "Zulqarnain Kazmi" and "thumbnail," it'll pop up. Now, if you want to make a PCC, just know it goes up to ad 000. And it takes about one to two hours to make a thumbnail. If you can whip up one or two thumbnails a day, it really depends on your practice and how quickly you can do it. If it takes you an hour or two and you manage to create two thumbnails, you could be looking at making anywhere from 500 to 2,000,000 rupees. So, you guys should really consider starting e-commerce!

"You can do this; there's an option for it. So, what is e-commerce? E-commerce means selling any product. Let me give you an example: this is a watch, right? So, what happens is, for instance, if I talk about Lahore, you can go to Shalimar? My friends used to get stuff from Raja Bazaar in Rawalpindi. They would go to Raja Bazaar and bring back all kinds of girls' bracelets and jewelry."

I've noticed that a lot of people are getting into selling stuff like wristbands, watches, and rings at low prices, and then they promote it on Instagram, saying they don't have time because they need to study more. So, what I used to do was, I was basically a pre-med student, which means I needed time for studying as well as for extra work. That's why I started tubing—what you might call content creation these days. So, if you're thinking about starting content creation now, here’s what you can do.

"You are the creator, and you can start working on that. Whatever skills you have, you can start using them. I had a small skill where I could hatch chicks from eggs, and I would use incubators to do that without needing a hen. I raised the chicks and sold them. So, I started making videos about that, and thank God, my videos started gaining traction. You can do something similar with any skill you have, especially if it's tech-related, in today's world."

Since shorts are super popular right now, you can definitely make some too. The second point is, even if you don’t know how, you’ll need to learn. If you want to learn on YouTube, you can do that.
